Dr. Tyra Turner Whittaker, LPC, CRC
Dr. Tyra Turner Whittaker has served as a professor and program coordinator for a masters level counseling program at two universities, and she has written grants that resulted in receiving approximately $12 million in grant funds. She also is responsible for the initiation and development of a Ph.D. program in Rehabilitation Counseling. Dr. Whittaker received her doctorate in Rehabilitation from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, her M.A. from Xavier University of Louisiana in Guidance and Counseling, and her B.S. in Psychology from Xavier University. She has numerous presentations and publications in the area of rehabilitation and multicultural counseling and has served on numerous professional boards. She has conducted several in-service training sessions as well as consultations, and has served on numerous professional and community committees. She is also the co-proprietor of the Whittaker Institute for Success and Enrichment.
